What our volunteers are saying…
“I was interested in becoming involved at the RIC because I know what it is like to be an English Second language learner, and wanted to help other kids on their journey to learn the language. I also love to read, and I feel passionate about encouraging younger children to start reading. The neighbors at the RIC are the friendliest and nicest people ever. I’m so glad I got to meet them.” - Lynn
“As an immigrant myself, I know firsthand how comforting a kind neighbor can be when everything feels new and overwhelming. The RIC's mission is so simple and impactful: to help our neighbors. What keeps us coming back is the small, family-like nature of this organization and the pure joy on the children's faces, something money truly cannot buy. We are continuously amazed by how such a small organization makes such a big impact, and it only inspires us to do more!” - Uthra & Barath
“I used to volunteer in Sudan and appreciate this work. RIC was my first volunteer experience in America. I love the community festivals at RIC, and will never forget them. I love coming to the RIC and learning new things. Through volunteering, I became familiar with forms and American systems. I also got to make connections with lots of people in the community.” - Fadwa
“One of my favorite parts of the volunteer experience has been seeing the progress the neighbors have been making with their English language acquisition. It motivates me to create fun new lessons for them!” - Kris
