The Riverview International Center empowers our New American neighbors by supporting individuals, strengthening families and nurturing community
At the Riverview International Center, it is our desire to assist with the basic needs of New Americans in the Riverview Drive neighborhood. Our office is a place where people can walk in and get help with any question they may have about navigating life in America. If we cannot provide the help ourselves, we will work hard to find someone that can. The goal is to be a flexible and community-oriented resource for whoever comes through our door.
Services
Community Care
Assistance with navigating things like mail, bills, appointments, and benefit applications
English Classes
Choose to register for semester-based English classes (Aspire) or drop-in to volunteer-led English classes
Employment Services
Career consulting and skills training to help navigate the many aspects of getting a job
Computer Literacy
A class that teaches typing, internet, email, cell phone/tablet operation, G-Suite and more
Citizenship Assistance
Provide help for neighbors preparing for the civics exam through volunteer tutors, and a Naturalization Clinic through The Legal Aid Society of Columbus
Legal Clinic
A monthly clinic for Riverview residents to receive free legal advice for immigration issues from an attorney
Community Events
Field trips, holiday celebrations, and an annual festival are just some of the ways we celebrate the diversity of our community and experience Central Ohio together.
Homework & Reading Help
Four evenings a week, volunteers assist students with homework and reading practice
Summer Programming
Fun and meaningful math and literacy focused programs for elementary and middle aged children during summer break
